I'm keep an open mind about most things. I don't think life should be taken too seriously.

  • Has Internet Explorer been fixed?

I haven't been using it since they talked about some problem with hackers last month. I've been using Google Chrome and I like it for the most part but I've always used IE, I have Windows Vista and I know the problem was mainly a concern for XP users but I wanted to be safe.

Also, people keep saying that you should upgrade to Windows 7 or 8.1 but I was wondering if that costs anymore to do the upgrade and will my system which was set up for Vista be able to support all elements of an upgrade?

  • Has anyone used the site Reddit?

I'd heard of it and then just read a story about it. I went to the site and it looks like a bunch of jumbled up mess. I was wondering if anyone has ever used the site and what's your opinion of it? Is it worth joining?

  • Is Yahoo going through another change?

I can't comment on articles anymore nor read other comments. It appears to be loading but it never actually loads. I don't like how the site is set up anymore for articles either. It's difficult to get any help from Yahoo too.

  • Is anyone else dealing with a problem with Yahoo Answers?

Whenever I submit an answer to a question, I get an error message saying that page does not exist. This has happened to me off and on for a few days. One day, I did a test answer to investigate it and the same thing happened and I thought I had went back and deleted the answer but I didn't and almost immediately received a violation (my answer wasn't a proper answer). The problem still exists and only on this site.

  • Can you still retrieve sent emails sent in error?

I know that there used to be ways to retrieve it so the recipient never reads it but I haven't had to do it in a long time so I was wondering if it could still be done on sites like Yahoo and Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail.com)?

  • Should you ever ask for a gift back?

I was reading a Dear Abby letter and the person and their partner bought the partner's mother "a beautiful diamond cocktail ring for Mother's Day." She's now 84 and when she passes on, this person wants the ring back to have it turned into a ring for the partner. The person thinks it's a gesture that would please him and his mother as well. She plans to leave her jewelry to her granddaughter but this person believes the ring will mean so much for her son. This person thinks the granddaughter will probably pawn or sell it anyway. Abby thinks it's okay to at least ask as do many of the commenters but I think it's tacky. I'm of the belief that you never give a gift and then ask for it back. I think it's poor etiquette. The commenter could save their money and buy the partner a new ring.

  • Why has no one ever created a tub disposal?

Serious question. I just happened to be thinking why like the garbage disposal for a kitchen sink that clears the drain of whatever food particles and oil get trapped in it, has no one ever created something like that for tubs so that they don't get clogged? If you have a system that gets easily clogged, you have to constantly either use a plunger or something like Drano or Liquid Plumber to unclog them. Things that make you (or at least me) go, hmm.

  • Why can't I access Yahoo Mail?

It asks if I want to accept this new updated thing where they collect information. It doesn't matter whether I press accept or no thank you, it doesn't let me move forward into my mail. I've signed out and back on and still can't get into mail.

  • What is the difference between caramel, butterscotch, english toffee and butter toffee?

What is the difference in how each of these are prepared? I know that each has a slightly different taste but also pretty much the same too.

  • What does it mean when my computer has low battery voltage?

My computer has run a little screwy for awhile and then just this morning when I turned it on, it gave me this warning which I included in my question. The computer still works and it's not slow although there have been times before today that it has been lagging. It also hasn't been immediately connecting to my Internet connection when I first sign on.

  • Is there a virus connected to imdb (internet movie database)?

In recent times, I've had weird things happen when I get on imdb that didn't use to happen. I was wondering if there is something wrong with it, I'm afraid now to get back on it.

  • What is a person called who looks for misery?

I've known people who seem to feel better being miserable, negative of themselves and feel that deserve to see themselves as beneath others. One such person that I am thinking of (who is middle aged now) was a child victim of abuse. This person in some ways acts as though they think highly of themselves but then in other ways, he acts like he is beneath others and refuses any encouragement unless it's how he wants it. A really contradictory person.

  • What do think of YA questions that seem serious?

Then they turn out to seem like troll questions? There are times where people will ask questions about a situation that seems really dire like suicide. One question asked what to do about a friend who won't eat and is now considering suicide. It got some really caring answers and then some stupid, completely unserious answers. The asker then says that she and the friend are both in 6th grade, then picks one of the unserious answers. I've seen similar questions before and it makes you not want to answer them anymore because you don't know if you've wasted your caring on kids being silly but then you could be passing up a truly serious question (which do exist). What do you do?

  • Is there a YA glitch?

One of my contacts will ask a question and it pops up 70 or 100 times in my inbox. I know stuff like this has happened with Yahoo Answers before but I was just wondering if others are currently having this problem.

  • Is there a reason Internet Explorer is lagging and slow?

Every site that I go to is taking too long to load. This has been happening for about a month now. I ran a scan on my computer to make sure there isn't a virus or anything like that. Is there something wrong with Internet Explorer and are they fixing it? I am in IE 9. I've tried going back to IE 8 but had problems.

  • How would you answer this employment question?

Ive been out of work for a few years, I used to work in a corporate setting. I want to work somewhere that people would consider beneath what I used to do and for way less money. I've had no luck trying to find work and am willing to start over in a new setting and work my way up again. I mainly need new experience since many companies either don't want to hire the unemployed or they are still worried you'll drop them when "something better" comes along. I would only move on if something comes up that is more money because I have to support myself. My question is, how would you answer when they ask: why you want the job and how long do you see yourself there, etc

  • Has anyone had or does anyone know about otosclerosis?

It affects the hearing, I think because of loss of bone density. I was able to get surgery for one ear but have since lost employment and insurance. Because of this, I can't get surgery for the other ear and a hearing aid may be costly even with a discount that they are having me look into. The doctor told me about a calcium/sodium chloride substance to take to keep the hearing loss from getting worse but that is also costly. Is there a natural way to get this, maybe from food?
