Is there a virus connected to imdb (internet movie database)?
In recent times, I've had weird things happen when I get on imdb that didn't use to happen. I was wondering if there is something wrong with it, I'm afraid now to get back on it.
I wasn't sure whether to post this question here or in the movie section.
The reason I asked is because I'd never had any problems with it before but recently, I have been but it's mainly when I get on that particular site. Not so much any other site.

No it doesn't cost money. I had the same problem about 2 years ago and couldn't figure out how to post. From memory I used my cell phone and got sent an instant imdb message with a number code. If you did enter a credit card they would just verify it and send you an email. Unfortunately they introduced this because of the spammers and trolls..

no, there is absolutely no virus associated with imdb. There might be some inconspicuous malicious program running in the background of you computer, but i can tell you it DEFINITELY is not the internet movie database that is at fault.

It may be a legit site but that doesn't mean you have no infection on your PC? Scan with Malware Bytes in safe mode
