Bada Bang: I don't think the NY Times is doing well at all. They are losing money and their stock is steadily falling. As long as Pinch manages the NYT it will lose money. I bet he sells it.

The NY Times is doing just fine, considering the industry they are in is rather putrid as far as future prospects go..

Good q. Free market principles dictate more honesty. But the US govt is no fan of the free market. I suspect they will be subsidized and prosper even after we collapse.

No. They won't go down any time in the foreseeable future. They have moved the majority of their business to on line, just as so many others have. And they will continue to win Pulitzers and other awards for their investigative journalism, which you obviously wouldn't recognize if it bit you on the bohunkus.
