Chevy or Ford?

I'm planning on buying a truck but I'm stuck in deciding which one. I'm not a person that prefers one brand over another. As of right now I have a 2005 Tundra 2wd SR5 4D. I'm gonna trade that in and use what I get for it as my down payment. I'm deciding between a 2007-2012 Chevy Silverado 1500/2500HD 4WD 4D LTZ or a 2009-2012 Ford F150 Lariat/King Ranch/Platinum 4WD 4D. And if I decide to get a F150 idk if a Ecoboost is even worth getting over a 5.0. Whats your opinion and why? If your a Chevy or Ford owner at heart, tell me why one is better than the other. Don't just say, because it's a Ford or Chevy

the biggest selling truck in the usa is the ford f150 FACT!

you are comparing a apple to another apple. if i have to pick one ford. because nothing to do with bailouts or quality.

ecoboost will be too underpowered for a big truck like that. will need at least a v8

Honestly man, they're the same under the hood. The nameplates and bumpers are different, but that's about it. My only caution is to do some research on the EcoBoost, cause it isn't super popular right now. I like both truck makers, but in my experience, Chevy's always been better on gas mileage, even with trucks...

    Good luck bro! :)

Neither. American marque pickups are crap. You're better off with a Nissan or Toyota.

I'm a Ford guy, but honestly, I think it's a wash on which one is actually better. In the 1990s, Ford was better hands down, but GM has really stepped up its game in the last 10 or 15 years. Personally, if you go Ford, I'd recommend avoiding the ecoboost, at least until a significant number of real world trucks start hitting 250,000 miles with those things. Ford's OHC V8s are super reliable, so get a 5.4 or 5.0.

Source(s): 95% of Chevy trucks made in the last 20 years are still on the road. The other 5% actually made it home! :)

just remember that ford and dodge both build trucks WITHOUT a government bailout!!! every time someone buys a GM vehicle of any kind, they might as well steal money out of EVERY american's pocket!

Im a Automotive Technician and im a ford guy, because their trucks have never done me wrong good interior quality, good towing, can take a beating like no tomorrow. I like chevy to, but recently they have been cheaping out in interior quality and their new silverado have a horrible transmission for towing. Now as for the ecoboost at first I had doubts about but that engine has some serious guns it can out tow a v8.
