Ronald Reagan Person of the Decade?

Well, besides from the fact that he was president, I researched and found this--

1. Lowered taxes for all Americans and businesses, with a Democratic controlled House and Senate. This in turn lead to the largest and most robust period of economic growth in US history.

2. Set in motions events which lead to the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Iron Curtain.

3. Stopped communists expansion within the Western Hemisphere.

4. With the help of the USSR totally eliminated an entire class of nuclear weapon.

5. Truly worked with all Americans. He had to deal with a Democratic controlled House and Senate, but still got powerful legislation passed.

6. Refused to give into Terrorists.

7. Helped bring freedom to Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, El Salvador, Grenada

8. Made being an American something to be proud of.

I found the second bullet point to be the most beneficial, since it helps people by protecting them and politics since it was the Cold War, an important part of our history, that would have most likely ended badly if not for the decisions of Reagan. This next fact I found to be interesting, just so you are aware of it. There was an assassination attempt on Reagan once, in which this man from a secret society took the bullet for him in the stomach. My apologies if I have not helped.

He destroyed the country.
