Please help, Tramadol overdose question...?

No one has answered my question. I keep on getting the typical "go see a doctor asap" response. Can a Tramadol overdose cause brain, heart, or nerve damage? I've been going through a lot lately and I took more than 20 100mg Tramadol capsules in (and I'm ashamed to say) a serious suicide attempt. This was last week. About once a day since then I'll get the sweats, my heart will begin to beat hard, and sometimes I'll black out. I am going to see a doctor early next week, but this is tough to sleep on and I'm hoping that someone out there can help. Thank you so much to anyone that can help with any info..

The biggest risk here has already passed, that being respiratory failure. Tramadol is also known to cause seizures in high doses, but permanent damage is unlikely. It may be stress or a number of other things. Sorry for the weak answer, but you can't know for sure no matter what anyone says until you see a doctor. Be honest and tell the Dr. what you took. Until then, take it easy and take care of yourself.

That being said, I hope you'll send me a message if things ever feel bleak and hopeless again. I've been there, and I know how dark and lonely things can be at times. I tried od'ing on morphine, somehow I beat the odds and woke up too. Years later, I can now understand that life is a precious thing. Don't hesitate to talk about anything with me. Edit: someone else mentioned mini seizures, which could be the case. It seems to me that the drug would be out of your system by now, but urgent care would be in your best interest.

It's possible your blackouts are actually mini-seizures. You should see a doctor IMMEDIATELY to get tested, not wait for next week giving the drugs a second chance to kill you. Go to the emergency room or urgent care NOW.

The reason everyone keeps telling you to see a doctor is that no one can take your pulse or test your blood over the internet. You need to be examined in person to determine what, if anything, the drugs did to you.

Be honest with the doctors and admit your suicide attempt. Accept the help they offer... by some miracle you got a second chance, so take it as a sign that you are meant to stick around.
