Romance Anime?

Anime where the girls aren't typical heroines with hot guys:

kaichou wa maid sama - girl's a total badass but works at a maid cafe that she doesn't want to reveal to her school mates (she's the student body president). the most popular guy at the school sees her at her work and takes an instant liking to her. (romance ensues from there on)

tonari no kaibutsu kun - girls a total hardworker and a bookworm (doesn't care about anything else) and the guy's childish but an academic genius. the girl is competitive of him and so on....

ouran high school host club - a tomboy girl is admitted at an elite high school (only the rich go there). there she joins a host club full of guys....

tora dora: the girl's rich, the guy isn't. they go to the same high school

lovely complex: tallest girl in the class, shortest boy in the class.

sukitte ii na yo - just realised you've already watched it.

skip beat - girl follows her crush to the city to support him in his dreams of becomming a singer. the guy dumps her after he's famous (he was just using her). the girl swears to be more famous than him to take revenge on him. (REALLy funny)

chihayafuru - the girl and 2 other guys are friends from childhood but separate when they go to middle school. the girl and one of the guy reunites when they both get into the same high school but the other guy is still separated. (the whole anime revolves around karuta - japanese competitive card playing sport, but the anime is REALLY good(comedy, romantic, etc)

animes with typical but likeable heroines with hot guys:

kimi ni todoke: everyone's afraid of the girl because she resemble the ghost from The Ring, but in reality she's just a sweet girl who's misunderstood (as a result she doesn't have any friends). the guy's had a crush on her from the first day of school.....

kamisama hajimemashita: the girl's dad runs away from home when he's unable to repays his debts, leaving her homeless. she gets taken in by a shrine and become a deity there when the shrine god leaves the shrine. the only problem is that the shrine god bodyguard(something like that) doesn't take her seriously (it's HILARIOUS)...

kyoukai no kanata - the guy is half demon and the girl is a descendent of some kind of demon killer clan.... they go to the same high school (don't worry, it isn't as serious as you think it'll be...it's actually really funny)

hakuouki shinsengami kitan (LOTS of hot guys ;) - watch it for the guys (and also, most of the romance happens in season 2 but still)

noragami - the guy is a delivery god. the girl saves him when she think's he's about to get hit by a truck and gets into an accident. since the guy think's it his fault, he makes her half phantom (really funny anime)

kamigami no asobi (haven't actually decided whether I like the main character or not but still) - the girl gets summoned into a world full of hot anime gods by zeus - she has to teach the other gods how to be more human, so they can empathize with them.

Ouran Highschool Host Club: the first reverse harem I watched. As a straight male I genuinely enjoyed this.

Clannad/Clannad: Afterstory: I'm sure you've probable heard of this, but you better watch it. Really emotional.

Anohana: Another extremely sad romance.

Maison Ikkoku: Really old, but should be watched just for the story.

Chobits: Some ecchi, but it's still really good.

One Piece and Fairy Tail are the best!

I highly recommend To Love Ru and all of its series, but it starts to get more into ecchi as the show goes along but I guarantee that you will start to love it! I just finished the whole series and im now in a deep depression as there is no more:( perhaps in the future there is but not for now!

It starts off with a boy called Rito who keeps trying to confess his love to his crush, Haruna but something lways gets in the way and stops him from confessing. In a distant galaxy, Lala princess of the planet deviluke which her father is the King of rules the universe is escaping from her planet and uses one of her inventions to teleport into Ritos bath with him, but the invention has a side affect and she ends up in his bath naked lol. Then rito helps her escape from the people trying to catch which is her fathers henchmen. Then somehow Rito ends up being engaged to Lala since as he shown signs of wanting to be married to her by helping her escape haha. However he starts to like Lala but he also loves Haruna.

Trust me its the best anime ever!!! Might not sound so great but it gets so much better as it goes along!
