Christians, serious question: Would you give up your place in heaven...?

...and switch with a loved-one that you knew wasn't going to be in heaven?

Elaborate if you wish.

No, because it would not work. The people I love who have chosen to not accept the free gift of salvation do not (yet) want to be with God, and God will not force them. I don't believe they would be able to enjoy eternity with God without a changed heart, mind, soul, and life.

C.S. Lewis wrote an interesting book called The Great Divorce, about people who are in hell (but don't recognize it as such), and take a bus trip to heaven. I think that book describes as well as anything why this concept would not work:

That's not for me to do. God decides who He wants around for eternity or not.

Forget about what's possible and what's impossible and let's consider this scenario: Two persons committed identical crimes that are sentencable to hell. One of them is my loved one, the other one doesn't have any loved one. If I bail out my loved one, I wouldn't be fair to the other person who doesn't have a loved one. Do people who have friends deserve better treatment than those who are lonely?

If you're going to commit the crime, you risk losing your freedom and your loved one's time with you.

No, I expect all my friends and family to stay right here on Earth, just as God planned.

No. Your question implies that we did something of our own to merit heaven and that we can freely give that gift to anyone. If it were so, God might require you to donate your spot in heaven to your enemies who you were admonished to do good for. Since the only person whose suffering is enough to cover our sins is Jesus, you have asked an impossibility. The answer is you couldn't if you wanted too.
