Whenever there's a topic of racial insensitivity, why are there always white people who say it's no big deal?
I see it time and time again whenever an article pops up on the internet about racial insensitivity. The predominantly white caucasians will flood the comment boards and say something along the lines of "ZOMG what's the big deal people need to take a joke blah blah blah!!"
Don't get me wrong I'm not about being PC and I absolutely hate Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I'm not even a Democrat. But there are times where something is blatantly racist and it warrants criticism, yet there are always what seems to be your plain American white people who will act like they are the judges of what is deemed racist or not. And 99% of the time nothing is racist to them and we all need to chill out.
Of all people, wouldn't you think white people should be the last people to act like the moral barometer of racism? With all due respect, if you're white living in America (or basically anywhere else except Asia) you have no idea what discrimination, racism, and negative stereotyping feels like. So why do white people still act like they can dictate what is racially offensive or not?
UPDATE: I never said white people are not allowed to have an opinion - something that many if not most of you are trying to imply. My question is why do white people act as if they are the qualified judges of what should pass as racist or not, especially in topics that involve racism or stereotyping of non-whites. Caucasians have no idea what racism, discrimination, and stereotyping feels like compared to a minority. Yet they tell other ethnic groups to "stop whining" or "take a joke".

I think you need to realize that this "question" is in and of itself quite racist.
It's unfortunate and ironic that many people who complain about one group's racism tend to reveal how racist they themselves are in the very context of their complaints.
Think about that.

Saying that white people shouldn't get to decide if something is offensive or racist is, in itself, racist. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You have to understand that a LOT of people vent online... but they never really think of the origins of the problems they face.
If this world was the way I wanted it to be... it would be nothing like it is now. As depressing as this world seems to be, I nevertheless try to stay positive. There is too much complaining and not enough solutions being put forth.

It's good that people complain I suppose, they know something is wrong with the world... but the real issue is actually thinking of solutions to our problems.

Because they cant relate and dont understand. To them people are just complaining but most have never really been the victim of a racially sensitive situation. They just dont get it. They want everyone to chill, out of worry that people will turn on them because in history they were always the ones in the firing position. Most want it to be a joke but offending someone isnt a joke.
Theres no point asking here the majority of this website are white westerners as well. You do come off a bit racist in this but ill assume its only because you are upset.

Don't you think you're being a bit racist by assuming that all these comments come from white people?
Saying that white people aren't allowed to participate in the debate of what is and what isn't racially offensive is, you guessed it, racist. Now, you might meet a lot of white people who are stupid, and who are racist - and there are a lot. But the very instant that you start categorising all white people as stupid and racist, the very nanosecond that you judge a person by the colour of their skin, you are dealing in racial stereotypes. Don't do it.
The true egalitarian knows that race knows no difference, and makes no broad statements about an entire race based on the actions of anything less than the absolute whole of that race.
