They do not deny that, otherwise they would not celebrate Easter. However, they like dramatics, and control of the Ephesians 2v8-9:"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

V9:"Not of works, lest any man should boast."

I was a RC at one time, and I could tell you-if it was a principle of works before faith in God, they would all be saved. The Catholic concept of God is works, works, works. Dead works without salvation does not impress God. They scourge themselves for Good Friday, fast, do a lot of religious acts of faith, mourn and cry, and Jesus Christ has long risen from the grave and is seated at the right hand of God. By keeping people's eyes on the Cross, they continue putting Jesus daily back on the cross, and people who do not know better, do not know that salvation is a gift of God and obtained solely by the grace of God. So sad.

All the artwork in Catholic churches, from stained class to sculpture, is to help us remember Christ's actions when he came to reveal God and show us the way to salvation. In his willingness to accept torture and death on the cross, he showed us what love really means. We can never forget.

Fr. Joseph has the key scripture: We preach Christ crucified. Without the cross, there is no resurrection.

The Catholic Church follows the biblical teaching of St. Paul to preach Christ crucified.:

    1 Corinthians 1:23(RSVCE)

23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

Preaching can be done with images as well as words and the crucifix the one sacrifice of Jesus for all. This one sacrifice is re-presented in the Mass through the miracle of God of "anamnesis" which means to make the past or the future present and commanded by Jesus in John Chapter 6.

We are to follow this biblical teaching until He comes again. Reasonable people would say yes and follow the biblical teaching. God bless!

    In Christ

The cross is and always was a pagan symbol for Satan. Beginning back with Nimrod, ruler of Babylon a center of false worship. He is known a Genesis 10:9 as "a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah". He hunted and killed any who worshiped the true God. He made himself as a god to his people, Tammuz. The cross was his symbol.

Romans used single upright poles to execute people. Not any crosses. The Catholic church using pagan symbols then, is not unusual at all. Most of their doctrines come from pagans. Jesus explained at Matt. 15:9 how such worship was useless by teaching commands of men as their doctrines. Instead of pure worship as God requires. They either picture Jesus as dead on a cross or as a baby in a barn. Never as the 2nd most powerful individual in existence today.

If there was no cross there would have been no Resurrection.

Sin is ugly, it destroys the soul, it hardens the heart, it makes nothing good.

Jesus suffered horrible torture for our sins, our mean spirited, disgusting sins. Looking upon that cross we are reminded that we are not pure nor pristine, that we are going to be judged and that we need a reminder each day that we need to try a bit harder on the side of love.

Because without Jesus, the cross is just a piece of wood. Well, actually 2 pieces of wood. I find it strange that Protestants would remove him from the cross and still think the cross is important.

Why is baby Jesus still in nativity sets during Christmas?

Do they deny that He is an adult now and that is risen and in heaven?

Could it be better to show him walking over the water?

It is to symbolize the pain and torture Jesus went through on the cross to die for our sins.

During each mass they have they crucify Christ again and again and again. It is no surprise they still have Christ on a cross.

The writer of Hebrews is inescapably clear about the singular nature of Christ’s sacrifice.

For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own. Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. (Hebrews 9:24-28, emphasis added)

Scripture does not waver on the finality of Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf. He came to make a one-time offering for sin, never to be repeated. It was a contrast to the Mosaic covenant, which necessitated a system of near-constant sacrifices. But none of the Old Testament sacrifices could actually atone for sin. They could only serve as a reminder of God’s deliverance and foreshadow Christ’s final sacrifice which would conquer sin.

In the practice of the mass, the Roman Catholic Church has reinstituted an unbiblical system of repeated sacrifices, blaspheming Christ and perverting His work on the cross.

How important is the mass to Catholicism? The Catechism of the Catholic Church refers to it as “the source and summit of the Christian life.” That is to say, it is the origin and the high point of the Catholic faith. It’s not peripheral—it’s the heart and soul of the entire system. (John MacArthur)

No, of course not. They absolutely do believe in the resurrected, glorified Christ. They have crucifixes whilst Protestants have crosses - no Christ on the cross. This just flags up a different emphasis, but all Catholics and all Protestants agree with this 5th century Apostles Creed which says,

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day he arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic [universal] church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Notice belief in the crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Christ? All Catholics and Protestants believe that. Perhaps there is a psychological difference shown in one having a crucifix and the other having a cross - one focuses on suffering, the other acclaims triumph? After all, the Bible says that the cross is the power of God unto salvation but certainly Jesus had to hang there to die before the triumph of His resurrection changed everything. See Romans 1:1-6 and Hebrews 1:1-6. AiH
