Good nicknames for my niece?
My sister had a baby girl and named her Ruth. I don't particularly like this name and I would like to give her a nickname. Her middle name is Michael. I can't call her Roo because that is the nickname of one of my sisters and I can't call her Mikey because that is their dog's name.
I know that Michael is a guy's name, but I didn't name that poor child and I'm not going to tell my sister that it is an awful name for a child because she just had the baby.

Ruthy/Ruthie definitely sounds cute!
Since her middle name is Michael, what about the nickname Millie? Millie sounds sweet and feminine :)

Ruthie can be a pretty cute nick name. You can also settle for universal names, like Boo. Once she gets older, you might see that she has certain traits that you can nick name her for.

ruth already is a short name and michael is middle name? wth?! i thought you meant Michele when i read that. michael is a males name and so harsh on a girl. what was the parents even thinking? even Mikey is male
