Yes and no. Honey is about 50% Fructose and 50% Glucose though this varies depending on what flowers they visit. Glucose obviously absorbs quickly but the combination of fructose and glucose lowers the glycemic index to much lower than that of sucrose so that's good for you. Fructose is preferentially stored as fats and excess weight contributes to insulin resistance so that's bad for you. Natural, unrefined honer contains many vitamins and minerals so that's good for you. Unrefined honeys now also carry the pesticides which are contributing to colony collapse syndrome, killing the bees, that's bad for you. There's about a 5% chance that the honey would contain Clostridium botulinum which causes botullism, however, the bacteria can not grow within the honey as it's too sweet for it and if your intestines have a healthy population of beneficial bacteria, the bad bacteria won't have a chance to set in. However, if you've been on antibiotics or it's a baby of less than 1 years of age that's being fed honey, there's a chance that the bacteria would colonize the intestines and produce the botullism toxin.
