answer: The Poetic Edda was written by a Christian monk and there are theories that this HEAVILY influenced the writing - a distinct lack of tales of the northern goddesses, a mistrust of sexuality and the HEAVILY influenced tale of Loki getting Balder killed and the apocalyptic end of the known world and rebirth of the new world after the gods fight the undead led by Loki.

Balder is resurrected and guides the surviving humans and gods.

    Heavily influenced by Christianity
