Why do you think that Jay Carney resigned his position?

He was tired of lying to people.

He had no sense of humor and it was painful to watch him all the time, really painful. Did that man even know how to smile? He seemed more like an accountant in personality than a PR guy. Glad he is gone. Maybe H+R Block will hire him to do people's taxes, that is a good fit for him.

Because it's very typical for press secretaries to work 2-3 years before moving on.

As the facts and evidence show, Obama has had two press secretaries in 6 years. No surprise that Bush also had two press secretaries in 6 years. I don't recall the same conspiracy theories from republicans when Scott McClellan resigned.

Press secretaries usually don't stay as long as Carney did. Its a very stressful, time consuming job and in his case, he had to weigh every single word he said even more so than most press secretaries do. Of course, this is a man who has old propaganda posters from the USSR era hanging on his kitchen wall. I'm sure the replacement will be just as bad.

Liberals will spin, this is common place for White House personal.. While true, I believe the pressure of having to keep lying for Obama, just got to be too much for him. Liberals will deny this, but as the various investigations continue into the many Obama scandals, the heat on Obama is going through the roof. It was just a matter of time before Carney lost it on live TV and spilled his guts.

He may have finally found a conscience. Not likely but possible.

He really started to lose it. He was making a huge jackass out of himself and maybe he finally realized that. His reputation is forever tainted

Maybe he started to miss his dignity.
