What is the meaning of the followin text?

Somehow, I had become tired of making these observations, and my brain had invented some false reasons as to why I shouldn't do it any more.

    Somehow, I had become tired of thinking about it too much and my brain gave me many reasons (although maybe not entirely real reasons) as to why I should not think about it anymore.
