is there afad for Indian food happening?

leafing through the stash of takeout menus in works cafeteria and it seems nearly half the Pizza, sandwich ect, places ALSO sell indian dishes. Is this becoming a national fad? a local (MD) one? or simply a number of proprietors from that area of the world?

It's possible that it's just a "fad"...but I have no details about your location's "buzz".

In Japan, after a scientific paper on the possible benefits of the spice, turmeric, was publicized on some "lifestyle" TV program, nearly every beverage company in the country created drinks with "Ukon" in the name. The first one I saw was "Ukon-no-Chikara" ("Turmeric Power"). Then another and another...and curry powder from India started flying off the shelves in supermarkets, while *real* Indian and Nepalese curry houses did a roaring trade for a couple of years.

    Cheers!
