Why won't my Canon MP490 printer print?

I have the Canon MP490 printer, and it won't print anything! I've used it before no problems, and now all of a sudden it just won't. I've tried everything suggested, and have checked the cartridges and have plenty of ink left, and are installed properly. The printer seems to be working properly in every other way, but every time I send something to print, it goes through the motions and acts like the cartridges are printing. The paper goes through and comes out normal, but no ink on the paper at all. The USB connection is fine, and I've checked for everything that I can think possible. It literally goes through the right motions of printing but just no ink, and no error messages at all. Please help!

A ink cartridge or cartridges maybe low, empty or possibly clogged

The printer cannot print correctly if it lacks one of the basic colors

First step is to see will if it print a test page

Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page.

If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads.

If the ink cartridge is still clogged, saturate a q-tip with alcohol

and lightly rub the print head

If there is still nothing after that then either it’s badly clogged, low or out of ink, and needs to be replaced

EDIT: Here are a couple of Canon support links that may help you

I have checked the cartridges and they have plenty of ink, no clogs, and are installed properly. Has to be something else, but can't figure it out. Thanks for your input!
