Bulb has leaves but no flower?

I planted some purple gladious flowers (sorry can't spell) just like the package said, about mid March. I have lots of leaves but no stem not even a little one. Is it going to bloom, or did I do something wrong? I bought them around Jan from Wal-Mart and stored them in a closet. I water it alittle every day when its very hot out.

Thanks in advance

It's still a bit early yet for flower depending on location and variety of Gladioli; sp Glads flowered months ago but the hybrids flower from July onwards.

As for watering , don't water for the corms first few weeks in the soil, but when the secondary roots have grown and the leaves are up they need plenty of water during dry periods to get good blooms.

Don't forget staking your plant if it is in an exposed position as well.

The only thing that I can add to the other respondents is that rabbits like glads. I watched a rabbit eat the top out of a single plant in a short row of glads. If you have rabbits and they present a problem, you may have to fashion some kind of physical barrier to keep the rabbits away.

Glad usually bloom late summer, 1-3 weeks in August, don't water every day, it encourages bulbs to rot, once I plant mine I never water them,
