People at my landscaping job think i'm stupid?
So I am a college kid and I just got a job working for a landscaping company for this summer. I have only been working 3 weeks. Now I am not stupid but I made the mistake at the beginning of asking the questions to the boss that all of the college kids there were wondering. He thought they were stupid questions and so now he thinks im an idiot. Nothing we do is hard but it is hard to do many things I have never done before at the speed my boss and others do it at and do it right at the same time. If I think for a second on what I could be doing it looks like i'm not working, but if I keep working I am more likely to mess up. The quickest way to get information to keep working is to ask, but if I keep asking questions I just look even more stupid. I always find myself having to tell the other kids what to do because they ask me so the boss thinks they know what they are doing. What should I do? It sucks getting made fun of all day

What are you taking this semester in college? Is it Woodworking? How 'bout Carpentry? There are many things besides just building the house that is involved with making a home from scratch. Those guys who build at that speed do so because they know what they are doing and they get paid for it. The only things I've seen that could do anything to what they do is fire, flood, hurricane, tornado, just the normal everyday stuff. But, as long as we have trees and saws we'll have homes!

Your boss is acting like a stupid jerk. He isn't a good manager of people or he would know that he ought to explain to new workers what is required. You're not a mind-reader!! Maybe it's time the other kids stepped up and asked a couple of questions instead of having you ask them all the time. OR you could pose a question this way: Tom, Dick, Harry and myself have never done this work before, so we all could use a bit of tuition from you on how to get the job done correctly, in the least amount of time.
