A Question About Paint Spray Machines?
I am asking about paint sprayers that have high velocity spray that comes out when you push the button. Not spray cans that make a rattling noise when you shake it.
But anyways, I was outside In my driveway that has a common fence on the property line that is shared by unrelated neighbors. There was a person spraying the fence with a machine that sprays paint. The fence , as all fences pretty much do , has vertical slots or slits in it. I was some distance away to be sprayed , but it is a windy day outside & the wind was blowing in my direction. I was wondering between where the spray is being sprayed & when it enters the air , whether or not the paint sprayed possibly had a chance to dissipate into the air before traveling in the wind into my direction & reaching me & my body. I wonder if when the paint is sprayed it combines with the wind that is blowing to where if & when it has a chance to get close to me , that it won't. I am not worried about my safety or my health. I am just worried that if the spray got onto me , that I would have it on my clothes & my skin & I would track spray on my clothing or my skin into my home & when & if I touch something , my property may be effected. I have a lot of expensive electronic items I would hate to accidentally be effected by my touching stuff. I had washed my hands & even took a shower just now. Would the paint spray particles come off me & get onto my things & ruin them or do you think no paint got on me at all ?
I am asking about how far a spray paint machine that runs on electricity or a generator , that from a paint sprayer with a semi long coiled hose can spray & travel in the air distance-wise before it reaches someone like myself at a great distance. I was wondering how far paint spray travels in the air & if even if the wind is blowing in my direction , will the paint ever reach me from a distance of about 20-30 feet or will the paint co-mingle into the air. I hope I'm asking correctly..
Okay okay. I'm done getting answers. It's Yahoo!Answers' freaking fault I cannot delete a question after I am satisfied with an answer. No , it has to freakin' stay posted & some plagiarizing person takes someone else's already posted answer & wins Best Answer for no reason. Cheating ! I never chose that freakin' answer as Best Answer , but someone did. You guys give the same answer as the next guy & get a Best Answer when it's the same as the first person's answer? That's wrong & nonsense.

The paint spray is probably dry by the time it is 6 feet from the spray gun and would only be dust.

I have used a sprayer on 4 houses it was Brilliant the blog below will give you a review as well as a link to a demonstration - Good Luck! If your outside it will depend on the wind direction if the wind blows on you so will the paint. If its completely windless I fail to see how you can operate the sprat 20 feet away. no matter how long the hose is you operate the spray by hand an cannot be any-further away than arms length. If you are really worried get a disposable suit that is used to remove asbestos fro $15 from the hardware shop and wear a mask - this will cover your entire body head and all. ..Check the link below it has a demonstration outdoors of a spray paint job on a fence....

It is very hard to say exactly how far it would travel and how much would hit you, there are too many unknown factors. However, as steve h said, by the time any of the particles would have reached you they would have been dry dust particles, and such a minute amount of them that nothing would come of it.
You seem to have a lot of questions about the nature of things and how they work, but have a pretty flawed understanding. I would recommend, if possible, you take a course in physics and chemistry--you would probably find them interesting and learn a lot.
I know the above paragraph comes off as sounding really condescending, but I don't mean it like that. I just think you would genuinely enjoy physics and chemistry classes.
