Which X-Men Movies do I need to watch before seeing Days of Future Past?

I would say just First Class. Days of Future Past pretty much ignores all of the events from the previous X-Men movies, especially X3.

I'd recommend watching First Class (even though it isn't very good) and the original trilogy, consisting of X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand. The original trilogy gives a basic idea of what the X-Men are and while Days of Future Past ignores some stuff, it still helps. The Wolverine movies, while good, aren't important at all and I only recommend if you're interested in the character after watching the other movies.

Watch First Class. That'll help but all in all you dont really need to watch any of them to understand whats happening because it does a very good job of explaining whats going on

I haven't seen any xmen movie. I got what was happening. All you need is a basic understanding of what xmen is.

Mutants- (if she doesnt know what that is) is people born with gifts, the next step in evolution Xmen- team of mutants, started by prof X (the bald guy who has amazing telepathic powers he can freaze minds, read them, and control them) first started a school for kids who had gifts to learn how to control them his brother magneto first helped him but they parted ways since magneto wanted to kill humans and xavier wants to protect them. They become enemies. He then runs a school for 60 years and starts xmen which is a team of the top mutants of the school to protect. Xmen origins wolverine- Wolverine backstory- pretty much the main character, his power is superhealing which lets him live forever and claws, he fought in every war and then made a deal with stryker to kill his brother after killing his loved one, in return getting an adamantium skeleton that makes him invincible. He then aborts the mission and stryker hunts him down and shoots him in the head, he loses his members Stryker as well was kidnapping mutants for project X, but wolverine freed the mutants which proof X found and brought to his school Xmen- wolverine has now lived 15 years in canada by himself trying to find who he is, he makes a living from cage fights and meats rogue (mutant teen who kills people with a touch, also a run away) in a bar, He first ignores her but then bonds with her and gives her a ride. -they join the xmen after being saved, rogue stays at the school and wolverine joins them in return prof X helps him with his past -magneto trys to take over the city but the xmen fight him and stop him Jean- one of the xmen, who wolverine fancys, has telepathic powers like prof X (not as powerful) Cyclops, jeans boyfries who shoots lazers out of his eyes storm- controls winder Xmen 2- wolveirne finds more of his past, from visiting a military base where he got his adamatium claws, rekindles with stryker. who tells him more of his past. stryker is exploiting mutants and wolveirne stops him. They flood the lab but are about to get killed, jeans risks her life and dies, wolverine and cyclops mourne her death X3 the last stand basically jean is alive and becomes possessed becoming phoenix, kills cyclops joins magneto. -huge war betwean xmen and magnetos army, lots of sida switch. -new cure that cure mutants, rogue takes it and becomes human. wolverine is forced to kill jean proff X dies The wolverine- Xmen has disbanded, wolverine is low a lonley hermit living in the canadian wilderness, depressed and torutred with nightmares of killing jeans -chinese mutant who can predict time asks him to come to japan so that some he saved a long time ago can thank him -in japan he offers wolverine to lose his immortality so that he can live a normal life, wolverine refuses he then gets bugged and loses his healing powers. Turns out the guy he saved faked his death and is trying to take wolverines powers, wolverine pulls the bug out, gets his powers and kills him. 2 years later he reunites with proff X and magneto warning him there is great danger to the mutants
