What do you think Star Wars Ep. 7 should be about?

I love the original Star Wars but I'm not a huge Star Wars geek and I'm not familiar with the expanded universe.

But lately I've read the first book from Legacy of the Force and I thought it was great. Personally, I think a story about Jacen Solo and Lumiya would be the perfect continuation. Maybe even some references about Darth Vectivus.

What are your thoughts?

Scratch their plan of set 40 years later, which was only done so they didnt have to recast original charectors.

Go back to Lucas's plan starting back in the 90's of

    the Thrawn Trilogy

If you want a good book series set in the years after Return of the Jedi start there.

here's a look at the trilogy:

Book 1: Heir To the Empire: 5 years have passed since the battle of Endor and the end of the empire in control of the galaxy. The New Republic is still forming and is very fragile. The new government works hard to bring more systems into it and away from a small corner of the galaxy where the remaints of the empire fight amongst themselves as warlords vie for control of the fleet.

Out of the ashes of the empire comes the last Grand Admirl, Thrawn, a half alien- half human who has discovered a fortress hidden by the emporer, and in it lies a dark jedi master, cloning machines, and some weapons the empire never used.

Book 2: Dark Force Rising: As Thrawn begins an assault on the New Republic, the government is threartened to fall apart as charges of treason within them appear. Leia is expecting twins (now married to han) and are destined to be jedi. Luke is drawn to the dark jedi master who wants an aprentice in exchange for helping mind control the imperial forces to fight as one. When Luke escapes his clutches, the jedi master sets his sites on Leia and her unborn children

Lando and Han discover a long lost powerful fleet who could tip the tide of the war to whoever claims them and races the empire to them. There they discover Thrawn's greatest weapon, clones.

Book 3: The Last Command: As Thrawn prepares his final assualt on the damaged republic, Luke discovers the location of the fortress and leads a rebel force against it. There he must face the Dark Jedi Master, a clone of himself built from the hand he lost at Cloud City, and Mara Jade, once a henchmen for the emporer who has spent her life wanting to kill Luke Skywalker who she believes killed her master.

It is still one of if not the best book series written in Post Star Wars.

It shouldn't be post-RoTJ. That's been covered in other media enough. It should be set during the years after the Ruusan Reformation and before "Darth Plageius".

Don't care, won't be watching it.

Every dollar spent on Star Wars is one less spent on a movie which might not suck.

If you keep feeding the idiot machine, they keep making movies for idiots.

I couldn't watch episode 7 if it showed Jacen Solo, just because of what happens to him later... (not gonna spoil it) but lets just say there's a familiar storyline between Jacen Solo and Anakin Skywalker. I have to say their second names because Hans other son is called Anakin Solo. Anyway i think episode 7 follows Lukes son, Ben Skywalker as he fights to uphold the new Jedi order. Which of course is still shaky as Luke refuses to train apprentices as he fears they would turn out like his father. Han would still play a major part, but i think if Jacen does appear, he'll be put on the sidelines.

I guess since i got the first answer, i shot first. :-o
