feminism is striving towards equality of both genders, not the supremacy of women, that's where a lot of people get confused and have misinformed opinions. It is very necessary.

Well feminism isn't necessary because men and women are, in fact, different. I am reminded of this by the fact that women have different parts then males, different hormones, and different looks. You can also just go look at the world records for any sport that's coed and you will see that men beat women in all of them. Take track for instance, a girl running a mile in 4:59 is considered extremely fast, and worthy of a D1 athletic scholarship to college. On the other end, if a male runs a 4:59 mile he doesn't get anything. To get a d1 athletic scholarship for a male you need to be running around a 4:15 mile. As you can see, the threshold for males is a much lower time then it is for females. No matter how much feminists argue they can't run a 4:15 mile(why? Because only a couple women in history have run that time as its around the world record for the mile for women). No matter how much feminists argue they are still different from men and they should just deal with it.
Source(s): If you put a naked guy and naked woman next to each other I GUARENTEE you will be able to tell which one is the woman, that's singling her out as she is not the same as a man, she is a woman and should embrace her role in society. You don't see guys b*tching about how they can't express their feelings cause they will be called gay, and when a woman tells a guy to go mow the lawn, he probably won't care, but if you tell a woman to make you a sandwich she gets all offended. Oh the hypocrisy, that is the true downfall of the feminist movement. They don't realize that life isn't fair. - SiennaLv 77 years ago
Because the consent of people to their social relations is all that is necessary for a good and just society. Adding political force and threats does not improve things, and always causes misuse of power and social injustice.
To talk of "gender equality" is empty and self-interested, because the same people can never explain what gender equality is supposed to MEAN, given that
1. women have babies and men don't,
2. men can sow wild oats and women can't
3. these facts have consequences which affect everything men and women do.
Women unequally bear the costs of reproduction, and this fact is caused by nature, not by "gender" or "patriarchy" or "social constructs".
Talk of 'gender equality' is always a false front for the attempt by feminists to use the State to force other people to bear the costs of women's reproductive choices.
Feminism is a factually false, logically false, ethically false, self-contradictory, biased, sexist, discriminatory violence-advocating belief system, the purpose of which is to provide privileges for pet political favourites, not gender equality which is a meaningless term ALWAYS used in a way biased towards women.

This is not my opinion and this is why:
Women were a target for a recent mass killings just for being women and this is not the first time.
Women suffer more objectification in media and with pornography probably more than ever.
Women suffer more sexual abuse and rape, slut shaming, victim-blaming and human trafficking (more are women).
More women live in poverty and the worst most desperate poverty.
More women retire in poverty despite working hard their whole life or retire with much much less.
Women earn less.
Women do the lion's share of unpaid work in our society with little respect or recognition for it.
Mothers pay a huge price for having children - usually 7 to 9% of her lifetime income while fathers suffer little to no income reduction.
Mothers suffer discrimination from employers.
Women are still being restricted in many areas by artificial barriers or attitudes, such as religious institutions.
Women's sports is not funded or promoted as much as men's in high school, college or on the pro circuit.
Many things like cars and medicines have not properly been tested on women (especially pregnant women) and cause them harm.
Women are underrepresented in politics and business and decision making generally.

Because practicing inequality isn't necessary and is counterproductive towards achieving equality.

Because innocent men & boys STILL face a lot of discrimination in modern society:-
1) Harsher punishments for the same crime.
2) Unfair family courts - not getting custody for the child.
3) Male victims of domestic violence are not taken seriously.
4) Male victims of r@pe are not taken seriously.
5) No special laws like VAWA to protect men, even though men are the majority of victims of violent crime.
6) For the same crime, irrespective of the gender of the offender - perpetrator gets more punishment if the
victim is female rather than male. This shows the life of men is valued less than women.
7) Men can be conscripted into the army anytime. They cannot even vote without enrolling for the draft.
8) Violence against men by women is socially acceptable, celebrated in the media. Reverse is not true.
9) No/Very few shelters for male victims of domestic violence.
10) No reservations for men in jobs, colleges, etc.. (Affirmative action for women)
11) Men stereotyped by society as being violent, abusers, etc.
12) Young men have to pay higher car/road insurance.
13) Young men in MANY COUNTRIES have to compulsorily serve in the army & risk their lives.
14) Male infant circumcision/genital mutilation is legal and performed widely and even completely socially accepted.
15) Males enrolled in a difficult job, are often given tougher, more dangerous tasks to perform than women in the same post.
16) Males are expected to carry heavy things for women, give up their seats for women, shovel snow, mow gardens and do any other job involving back-breaking manual labor, that women do not wish to perform.
17) Males are expected to not show emotion and remain stoic, under any circumstance.
18) Males who complain about being objectified are shamed as being “mentally fragile” or their sexuality is questioned.
19) In the army, or any other position men have to meet much higher physical standards than women (disproportionately higher number of push ups, pull ups, etc..)
20) Many countries do not even recognize female on male r@pe. It can maximally only amount to “sexual assault”
21) Male children are often given harsher punishments by teachers for the same level of mischief as girls.

Let's consider what feminism has done over the past few decades:
Pushed a policy of discrimination against boys in K-12 education. Boys are now doing worse than ever before.
It has promoted that women owned businesses be advantaged over male owned businesses.
it has pushed for women to be advantaged in hiring under affirmative action.
It has advocated that male victims of domestic violence be denied access to the resources afforded to women.
It's rightfully wanted capable women to be able to serve in all branches of the armed forces, but has also not wanted women to register with selective services and at times has wanted standards to be lowered for women, putting people's lives in danger.
It has similarly advocated standards for women in police and firefighting be lowered, again putting people's safety in danger.
Feminists have pushed for mandatory arrest policies so that males can be arrested without normal due process. Similarly, they've pushed colleges to lower the standard by which males are found guilty of sexual assault, so that innocent males are much more likely to be found guilty.
They are currently pushing for policy that would force colleges to place limits on the number of males who can go into STEM fields, which will reduce America's competitiveness in these fields.
They have insisted men be cut from athletics, but of course women monopolizing yoga, palates, zumba, aerobics, etc. is fine.
They have pushed for and won men subsidizing women's health care costs under Obamacare.
Not only are these and other similar feminist pushed policies not necessary, they are costly, inefficient, discriminatory, unfair and cause gender bitterness.

With respect to YAC's (tired) list:
Far more men are murdered than women, so even if women are murdered because they are women, you're still worse off murderwise if you're a guy.
Men suffer far more destructive "objectification" in the media than women - women are objectified as being required to be thin and beautiful, whereas men are (at least in commercials) stupid, lazy and evil, and always need to be rescued by women. One is a positive (though destructive to try to obtain) model, the other is purely negative: simply that men are bad.
Men suffer far more violence than women generally. They are also verbally abused more than women though we entirely ignore that.
It IS true that women suffer more trafficking. Period. Absolutely inarguable.
More women live in poverty but the VAST majority of homeless are men. The majority of savings and trusts are controlled by women, which is to say that with the exception of the 1%, women are on average richer than men.
Women earn less because they do less billable work as defined in a capitalist society. Sure, sometimes they face discrimination, but men face MORE discrimination. The .77 cents on the dollar is based on the career decisions that women make, choosing parenting over career, eldercare over career, etc.
Yes, women CHOOSE to do the lion's share of unpaid word in our society. However, most of this unpaid word tends to be the types of work that women are more likely to want to do (service). In the cases where the unpaid work is construction etc, surprise, men tend to do it. In any case, it's a CHOICE.
Yes, if you make the choice of motherhood and negotiate with your partner to spend a huge amount of time taking care of children, you will definitely pay for it with a lower end salary, less social security, etc.
Mothers RIGHTFULLY suffer discrimination from employers. That is, employers are entitled to protect themselves from likely scheduling issues with their employees. Since having children is a choice, since it is not society's obligation to fund a family's choice, the idea that employers should bend over backwards for employees to have children is a non-starter unless we've decided that they are a protected class. That is, they provide less service and need more resources. You can't have it both ways.
Granted companies get good things by having women around, including pregnant women, but surely that's the company's call.
Women are still being restricted in private and religious areas - true. So are men. There are far more "perks" (scholarships, programs) available to women then men.
Millions of boys have been deprived of access to sports resources as a result of Title IX, while women have more access to resources than their proportional due due to things like Yoga and Aerobics being considered for both genders. Feminists complain about the lack of funding for women's sports resources coming from private funding or for-pay funding, but the reality is simply that people prefer to watch men's sports, at least for most sports. The only way to fix this is to give them something they want to watch.
It is true that lots of things haven't been well tested on women (usually because of the complicating factor of hormones or because of societal's preference for keeping women safe). Before we get too enraptured with this, however, I would ask what the damage here is? Remember, that most of these drugs have been in the market for decades and we have no reason to believe that gender has caused any problem.
Women are indeed under-represented in politics and business, but with the current crisis in boys education, there simply won't be enough boys and men in a few generations to handle these jobs. This is self correcting.
I would also argue, as Sheryl Sandberg has in "Lean In", that a huge part of that problem lies with women themselves: You actually have to grab the brass ring. Nobody is going to put it in your hands. Nobody is going to make sure that once it is in your hands, you keep hold of it.
