Why are so many black wrestlers looked down upon?

This isn't something I normally do, but I have to get one thing clear. Please don't believe Dave Hytmen's straw man arguments. I'm no racist, nor did I call anybody racist for disagreeing with me. In fact, I welcome friendly disagreements. He called ME the racist because he disagreed with me, ironically. I don't hate any race, discriminate against them, or think I'm superior to them. Simply saying that black wrestlers are often treated poorly isn't racism. Its just my opinion based on what I observed. I don't take kindly to people blocking me so I can't reply, yet they attack me personally, talk crap about me, and put words in my mouth. I just wanted to get that out there. Anyway, back to the question.

Update:

I also never once said WWE was racist.

Update 2:

@Dave Hytmen: I've been saying for the longest that Ryback should be the face of the company. Last time I checked, he was a white dude. Rusev is also white and I made the same argument. I also defended Kane the same way. I'm not racially biased.

Update 3:

The only thing you do is put words in my mouth. Yes, I cheer Alicia Fox because I root for my people in whatever. I like her for other reasons and do think she's good. Yet, that does prove that somehow hate, discriminate against, or think I'm better than white people. That's what racism means. Perhaps you should use another word because racist doesn't describe me.

Update 4:

I just happen to take notice of the fact that many bland white dudes like Triple H have won titles over ten times despite not standing out. Sure, he plays a good heel, but anybody can do that. Yet, wrestlers that are actually marketable with unique like Kofi Kingston, are jobbers. They usually tend to be black too. That's not racism, Dave.

Update 5:

If you truly believed that coaching sometimes doesn't, then just be a man and tell me that and explain why. Don't block me, get mad, post comments and questions complaining about me, and cry about my answers. Just explain to me your reasoning in a friendly way and I would do the same.

I agree with the First two answers, also it has to do with stereotype. And you are right about WWE and how black wrestlers have been held back.I don't know why Dave would block you, because of your point of view.Mark Henry,Booker T,Shelton Benjamin,Elijah Burke,MVP,Bobby Lashley etc.Are all good wrestlers, yet they was held back in WWE.

Despite Booker T being WWE World champ,he was still treated badly.Triple H didn't want to put him over, and also he was a 1x WWE world champ while in WCW he was a 4x World champ, and was simply the man.

Mark Henry even though he won the World Title,he should have had won the title before he did. he still have not been pushed much.Bobby Lashley was ECW champion?please Lashley should have been WWE champ.Mark Henry,Booker T,and Lashley, all should had been multiple WWE champ.WWE has never had a pure WWE champion.

I've been Waltzing around this question wondering if there was a point in answer. But seeing 'Jim Crockett Promotions Fan', The Legendary Hart and Jay26's Answers I'm going to make something very clear. Why do you never answer my simple question? Why when a professional wrestler is Caucasian and they don't go far, they simple 'Suck'; yet when a Non-Caucasian Professional Wrestler doesn't make it to the top it's because of Racism? It's Crying in the wind. IF Any Non-Caucasian Professional Wrestler EVER had an issue with the Gimmick, storyline, ect they where a part of; they could have walked out the door. Simple.

I'm going to make this clear. I referred to you as Racist because you only seem to EVER defend Non-Caucasian or in this case Black Professional Wrestler; You cheer Alicia Fox not because she's good but because she's a Non-Caucasian Professional Wrestler in a 'Business' where Non-Caucasian Professional Wrestlers 'Don't Go Far'. Your exact words, You Are Racist.

I'm tired of dancing around this subject, I'm sick and tired of you acting as if a simple pep talk and even the original Sin Cara could have been WWE Champion; sometimes Coaching doesn't work. Sometimes Professional Wrestlers can't reach the right level. DEAL WITH IT!

Also Quite this whole 'friendly disagreements' Garbage, you write a novel then expect everybody here to not ask you to BACK IT UP. We're not your sheeples dear, we're not going to nod our heads like morons.

    What about Asian wrestlers?

I agree that there are talented superstars who deserved better, like Shelton Benjamin, Elijah Burke and Booker T deserved to be in the main event more often than not. Lashley shouldn't be put there because he was suppose to be pushed but rejected WWE and favoured MMA.

WWE is just like western media, they favour white people, not saying anyone would say this but I don't think WWE are racist, otherwise they wouldn't hire many ethnic minorities. Western TV is much worse than WWE though, at least WWE have a mixture of gimmicks for ethnic minorities which Hollywood movies and TV shows don't implement, one example is Jimmy Wang Yang, an Asian redneck and another is Tajiri being in a relationship with a white girl. As a matter of fact, how many times do we see East Asian guys in a relationship with an East Asian girl? 9 times out of 10, she is with a white guy, sad self hate/white washed mentality by East Asian girls !

I know your question is about black wrestlers but I'm speaking mostly about ethnic minorities and using East Asians as an example.

Basically, white wrestlers sell, we live in a white dominated society, only time I will say if they prefer white wrestlers over black wrestlers if there are more black wrestlers in WWE.

There are many good black wrestlers in WWE and TNA.

  • Racism is still alive and well in The United States. 2 Police Officers and 1 Civilian were killed in Las Vegas just a few days ago by a couple who expressed White Supremacist Views.
