I would play it like this (and I'm assuming your crush is a normal guy lol)
You; Hey what's up
Him: Not much you
You: not much. Hey just wondering, what's your favorite movie
Him: idk probably ____. Why
You: oh just asking
Him: okay what's yours
You: _____. I just love ______. (Insert something you love about the movie)
...and that should work. I've had several conversations with my crush (not EXACTLY like that one, but other things similar to that). Hope this helped you. :)
