Put on your readin' glasses cause you gonna be here for a while! I'm going to list them from most favorite down.

    1. Maze Runner Triology (read prequel LAST!)

    2. The Infernal Devices (prequel to The Mortal Instruments technically it's tied for first! The ending! AHHHH!!! It's so perfect! TEAM WILL BABY!!!)

    3. The Mortal Instruments (almost as good as the one above. If it ends as well as the prequel trilogy it will be bumped up to #1! I just got the last book and the main character shares my name... MY LIFE IS OVER!!!)

    4. Legend Trilogy (SOO AMAZING If you don't want to put it down! I read them all in two days!)

    5. Eragon (!!! Such an amazing read and the books are really long. A 15 year old wrote them!!!! I didn't believe it at first because it's one of the most well written books ever! The characters are very unique and different from each other! Can't be out done!)

    6. Graceling (Really interesting world!)

Okay, I have more but I ran out of room! Hope this helps!

    Source(s): I read too much...

I'd suggest PAPER TOWNS or LOOKING FOR ALASKA. Both of those are by John Green. They're a bit more raw and harsh than the Fault In Our Stars, which in comparison is more polished. It's like John Green made those books dirtier (not necessarily sexually dirtier). He gives the hard truth without softening the blow at all. Maybe that's because Paper Towns and Looking For Alaska both have male protagonists. That fact alone really gives it contrast to the many female protagonist teen books these days.

If you're looking for something a little humorous but still thought-provoking, I would suggest THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY series by Douglas Adams. You'll be pondering so many different philosophical concepts with comedic undertones. It really takes the edge off of the seriousness of the situations that the characters get themselves into. Adams keeps that level of humor consistent throughout the entire series.

DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth offers a story about a teen girl conflicted with who she wants to be in a socialistic society that is falling apart. Conflicted with who she is as a person, she is tested to her limits physically, psychologically and emotionally. All the while, she has to look over her shoulder. Who isn't out to get her? Don't forget this is a teen novel (love interest *wink*). Thrilling, action-packed and so agonizingly stressful that you have to read it in one sitting.

ELLA ENCHANTED by Gail Carson Levine. I know what you're thinking, but it's not like the movie at all. Sure it has the same fantasy setting, but in a more realistic way. Young girl struggling against her curse of obedience. There is also a love interest that occasionally gives you their point of view in a cameo of their diary. It is a lighter book, nothing hard-core like drugs or even swearing, but still invokes deep emotional ties.

FLIPPED by Wendelin van Draanen is also more PG than John Green books, but it's really good. Every other chapter is her side of the story and then his side of the story. It's about two kids who have lived across the street from each other since they were really little. The story is about their relationship and what they think of each other as they go through middle school. Really awesome.

When in doubt, PETER PAN by J. M. Barrie. It's my go-to book. The first time I read it, I couldn't get through the first chapter cause I thought it was stupid and was going to ruin my image of the whole Peter Pan tale that I knew. But I gave it another shot and I've read it front to back about 8 times now. You have to really look for the unspoken happenings. There are small clues that give you a glimpse behind Peter's confident facade. Such a cute book.

WALK TWO MOONS by Sharon Creech. The first book where I sobbed so hard, I had to put the book down. Seriously, the ending will ruin your life, but you'll be better for it.

Have you read other books by John Green? My sister is very into his books and has read Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherine's. She's probably read some other ones, but those are the only two I remember.

Other books she's liked include: It's Kind of a Funny Story, The Hunger Games, The Divergent Series, Pretty Little Liars Series, and The Maze Runner Series.
