Salicylic acid peel?
I applied a 10% salicylic acid peel on my forehead last night for 2 minutes (the advised maximum time). I used a facewash beforehand to get rid of any oil or dirt. It stung and tingled a bit as it is supposed to and I awoke the next day to find that there is no difference and my skin just feels smoother. There is no visible peeling. I am doing this for acne but mainly for acne scars. Is 10% strong enough to make skin peel or do you need a higher percentage?

I don't think that'll help. To avoid acne all you need to do is just stop touching and unnecessarily washing your face. The oils that your pores secrete serve to prevent bacteria getting into them. Washing away these oils exposes your pores to the air and to bacteria, especially if soap is used. Using cleaning products on your face just increases the likelihood of spots emerging. The most you should do is let water flow over your face in the shower. No rubbing/scrubbing and only dry by lightly dabbing with a clean towel. And another tip that may help...
Flip your pillow over every night, horizontally one night, vertically the next. That way, you are less likely to press your face against the oils you rubbed off on it a previous night. Make sure you change your pillow case at least once a week too.
