also, l need advice re renting a clean 1 bed apartment away from noise, preferably with all facilities - furnishing, cooking facilty, hot shower and away from city. l would have 730 pounds sterling per month to support myself and girlfriend. Possible? Then, details on transport from airport to the chosen location. Assume that l am completely in the dark re Taiwan though l did live in Philippines for eight years.  All advice welcomed and appreciated.

The nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program, which permits a duration of stay up to 90 days：Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. (citizens only), U.S.A., and Vatican City State.

Frankly speaking, for two people/tourists, with the amount of money you can afford (roughly TWD 37K/month), the budget is on the low side.  To be able to get by, you will need to do your homework and research.

You could rent a low cost place outside of big cities, and then you plan for backpacking/hostel style of trips to different regions of Taiwan.
