Gals, would you dump your boyfriend if he did this?
I work in an office with 9 other people. I am the only woman in the office. The guys I work with are terrific. I am happy to go to work each morning just to work with these great guys. They are always there for me when I have questions or need help. After hearing other women talk about their jobs, I think I am one of the luckiest people on earth. I am not married as are most of my co workers but none of them hits on me. If I need something to do my job, they get it for me.
They have a tradition that after work on Friday, they take me to a different restaurant each week for dinner. They say they just want to thank me for all the great work I do for them during the week. I really enjoy these dinners and so do they. However my boyfriend found out about them and demanded that I stop “Going on a date with 9 guys”. I tried to explain to him that it was not a date. It was just friends going out for a meal. I invited him to join us but he refused. He said the only reason they were doing that is so they could get in my pants. I think his jealously got the best of him so he is now my ex boyfriend.
Why is it so hard for guys to believe that a girl can have male friends that are not trying to get into her pants?
Do you think I did the right thing to dump him?

The bit where you used the phrase "found out", makes it seem like you went through great lengths to keep it hidden. :p
I'm sure if you were open to him about it from the start, he would have been more understanding.
And even then, I find it quite hard to believe that none of them were trying to get in your pants. You're going to tell everyone that they take you out for dinner every Friday just because they appreciate the hard work... and not because they didn't want to get in your pants?

Those guys sounded like they were chomping at the bit to get into your pants. Why would they make a whole dinner just for YOU? I'm not surprised your boyfriend felt jealous, you, alone with NINE OTHER GUYS.

I doubt you'd like it much if your boyfriend spent every Friday night out on a date with 9 women.
Your question "Why is it so hard for guys to believe that a girl can have male friends that are not trying to get into her pants? "
Because guys know this isn't true. You're not a guy, so you don't get that.
