Latex and Linseed oil?

Hi!

Can I mix Latex paint with boiled Linseed oil in order to achieve a better holding power for the paint?.In this case I mean to used on the outside of the house.

I thought of using Linseed oil paint but all these old paints are hard to find.

There's nothing wrong with the " holding power " of latex paint. I assume you mean the adhesion to the surface the paint is applied to. People always think about the latex of 30 years ago. Today, latex is equal to, if not better than, any oil based paint.Adhesion qualities of any paint are enhanced more by surface preparation than anything you can add to the paint. Such things as scraping, sanding, and priming if necessary will do you a lot more good than paint additives.

Use paint made for Exterior Use Only, and leave the linseed oil on the shelf.
