Do WestJet planes currently have power outlets on them?
I know as of Febuary 14th, they announced that they have this new inflight entertainment system, but does that mean that they have it now or are in the process of installing it.
I ask because I know that the current entertainment system is the cable television channels, and while that's nice and all, I don't think it will hold my interest for the 6 hour flight I'm on tomorrow. Hence the idea of bringing a laptop and watch a movie on it or something.

There's a difference between an in flight entertainment system and having power points. You can find the seat amenities on most airline/airplane configurations on the seat guru website: http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Westjet/informati... WestJet does have in seat video (entertainment system) on some planes, but does not have power outlets on any seats.

No, they are not installing outlets in the airplanes. They are offering the seatback entertainment, and they offer movies on that for long flights. If you plan to use your own laptop or tablet for movies, you'll have to make sure that it's fully charged. You could consider a portable charger if you want.
