How long do fingernails grow in a month?

Assuming it starts off such that none of the nail sticks above the finger.

Update:

I'm an adult male in his 20s. I probably should have specified that, my bad!

So right now I've received two serious answers: 4mm or 1.5 inches. Quite a big difference. I'm still keeping an eye on this question.

Your fingernail growth is going to depend on age (younger you are the faster they grow) and you overall health. A healthy woman in 30's would probably grow about 4 mm per month, at least that how much mine grow.

I really dont know, i mean i grow my nails and since mine grow quite fast, in two weeks theyre abut an inch and a half. (Thats long)

mine grow fast so an average person would have an inch and a half or just over if you took care of them like no broken nails and stuff.
