Wings vs. legs?

I confess I am a dinosaur-- it's well over 30 years since I retired as a ballet dancer. Recently I hear people referring to the "legs" of the stage, whereas we used to use the term "wings". Is this just a more modern term, or is there a difference and they are not referring to the same thing at all?

    I'm a dinosaur too - a T-Rex.

I don't get many wings but I think ballet dancer legs are delicious.

I've always heard them used interchangeably. Maybe it's a regional thing.
