how to stop worrying and being paranoid (ocd)?
okay so ever since i was a little kid, i've been paranoid about batteries. like everything about them scares me. it all started when my dad told me to wash my hands after touching the battery of a camera as if could cause cancer. i would be scared to touch batteries and would take like hours washing my hands if i did touch it. i am now 18 years old and my ocd was gone for a few months but now recently i feel it coming back. it came back after i opened the battery compartment of a remote control and saw the dry battery acid. i started to freak out and washed my hands. now i have the need to check every thing that has batteries and see if it has leaked. i also have this weird thing where i feel like i'm going to swallow a battery every time i drink from a cup because i feel like a battery can accidentally be dropped into it. i dunno, i'm really weird but it's been stressing me out a lot recently. like i'm seriously scared of batteries because i feel like i could get cancer if i don't wash my hands thoroughly after accidentally touching battery acid. and another obsession has come about vision loss and cataracts. i never really wore sunglasses as a kid so i'm scared of losing my vision to cataracts because my eyes were always exposed to the sun as a kid and feel like damage has already been done but i went to get a eye check-up recently because my right eye is blurrier than my left eye and the eye doctors never told me anything about cataracts when they tested my eyes. help plz?

I actually hate batteries myself.
