Accurate old testament movies or books?
Since I moved to Israel, I need to learn about the bible (old testament). My parents suggested I should find movies and books, but I can't seem to find any that people say are accurate.
Which should I watch or read?

First of all, Jews don't call it the Old Testament because they don't believe it's been supplanted by a New Testament.
Then, most of what people 'know' of the Bible doesn't come from the Bible itself but from writings -about- the Bible--exegetics, commentaries, stuff like that. The scriptures themselves are thousands of years old and not that easy to interpret. There are MANY MANY of these books, with a wide range of perspectives, interpretations, etc.
Movies also serve this function--to steer peoples' beliefs about scriptures--but they are also meant primarily to be entertainment, so they all distort the story to make it more 'filmic'. This doesn't mean they're wrong, only that you should take anything you read about the Bible with a grain of salt, and a movie with even a little more salt.
Accuracy, unfortunately, is not the point. Books and films usually are trying to make a point, and even if the book or film is supposedly totally about just interpreting the Bible, the point is often more important than the actual material.
Christians, for example, often use the Old Testament simply as a mine for prophesies to prove that Jesus was the Messiah. But often I think they distort either the prophesies or the story of the life of Jesus in order to make them match. And once that point is made, that the OT proves Jesus was the Messiah, then the distortions don't matter--I mean they're only there to prove something we already know is true, right? 8^)
The Jewish view of the Tenakh (as they call it) is a lot more complex and sophisticated. But there are many perspectives and even some disagreements, and you want to read several different views before you can say you really understand something.

Accurate in what way? Accurate to the garbage in the Bible? It can't be accurate to what actually happened at that time since the Bible is complete bullshit.

Hollywood will never make an accurate Bible movie, it's not popular enough with the carnal masses

Its difficult to find media that is 100% true to scripture. But the religion -themed movies of the 50s and 60s did the best jobs. Movies like The Ten Commandments, Abraham, etc.

Don't use the terms "accurate" and "Old Testament" in the same sentence.
