If violence isn't the answer why was there a battle in heaven?
I'M NOT JUDGING IT WAS JUST SOMEHING THAT CAME TO MIND! So basically in the Christian faith people believe that Lucifer rebelled against God because he was jealous of Adam and proud of himself. Then Lucifer- or should I say Satan- battled St Michael. So why would God allow this if violence isn't the answer? Couldn't have God just destroyed Satan instead of a war in HEAVEN?! Thanks in advance people ;-)

LOL. Kind of ridiculous, isn't it?
The Bible just happens to depict battles and conflicts with swords and fire and all the weapons that just happened to exist during the Iron Age in which it was written. Notice that God never whips out an H-bomb or a high-powered laser to vanquish his "enemies" (who he just happened to have created).
Staggering that grown adults in the 21st century believe this nonsense is real.

Perhaps Satan did not feel that his point would be made with flowers and hugs.

Lucifer became Satan (Satan claims the stage turning the Grace of God into lasciviousness/Wanton lewd) - The nature of the stage is to draw people into the world.
All the major faiths refer to us the children as already being fallen/blind/dead/asleep, or what the Hindu's refer to as being in a state of Avidya/Ignorance.
So why would God sacrifice himself as his son?
The biggest mistake we make is thinking that what happens on earth (In the world), is the will of God. (Whilst we are in the world and of it, we are said to be blind/dead/asleep, or what the Hindu's refer to as being in a state of avidya/Ignorance.
God responsible for the message of Jesus is not of this world:
John 7:7
The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.
Epistle to Jude 1:4 (to this condemnation)
