Comic Con Questions?
I'm really excited for next year's comic Con, but I don't know there rules or legality things, for instance if I go as Aiden Pearce can I carry a bb gun that's not loaded. Just to make it complete you know. Or any other rules I should b aware of. I've never been to one so could you just let me know of everything I should know. Thanks much!

For starters, you --->MUST<--- go to prop check when carrying prop weaponry. There is no exception to the rule. Ive never been to Comic Con myself, but I can safely say that if you're a character that has a weapon, you MUST go to prop check to get the OK for it. Its a safety matter of course. I can also safely assume that real BB guns even unloaded will most likely NOT be allowed. I believe gun props to be allowed in general in must be recognized as fake, with the orange tip. The best way to find out is to check out the comic con site for questions on prop weaponry, they should have a detailed list of what is allowed and not allowed. When you go to prop check, someone there will look at it and decide if its alright to bring into the con. If its ok, they will give you a tag to put on your prop, which MUST stay on the entire time. If not, they will tell you that it cannot be brought onto the con floor.
Really the number one rule of any convention is just being respectful of what's around you. Dont do anything that would get you kicked out. If you wouldnt do it outside the con doors, then you wouldnt do it inside them. Be respectful of the space around you, other cosplayer's space and property and remember your manners. Ask first before pictures and hugs. Familiarize yourself with the con rules and guidelines on their website.
And if this if your first time going to any sort of nerd convention, keep these tips in mind-
*Pre-register as early as you can. Cons have attendance caps, and pre-registering save you a spot. Plus, the farther the date of the con is, the cheaper all-weekend passes will be.
*Food served at cons can be expensive. Bring snacks to keep your energy up and costs low. Remember to sit down to have a good meal. And drink plenty of water.
*Remember the 5-2-1 rule. At least get 5 hours of sleep, have at least 2 meals a day, and take a good shower at least once.
*If you're traveling far out to get to the con, figure our lodging and travel early. Conventions will usually make deals with a local hotel, (usually if the hotel is hosting the con) and give con-goers discounted room rates. You definitely want to take care of this fast, since rooms fill up quickly.
*Bring friends to make the experience even more super enjoyable! :D
*Mind your money management. Keep your spending money separate from emergency money. Keep your priorities in order.
*Make sure your cosplay is ready for wearing well before the convention starts!
*Dont lose your con badge. Your badge is allows you to get into all the events and panels and all that fun stuff inside the con. Make sure its on you at all times.
*Make note of who the con staff, volunteers and security are. They'll usually wear a special badge or vest to denote who they are. If you run into trouble or see something that doesnt look right, you'll know who to go to.
*Have fun!
