Is the Bible Scientifically Accurate?

Yes. The bible is accurate in all that it teaches.

Much of the science in the bible was the best people could do, mostly some 4,000 years ago. The thing is, knowledge (specifically science) advances as we learn more and more. Oh, and some of the stuff in the Bhagavad Gita (and other sanscrit texts, which are as old, possibly older than the bible) gives a usable, but poetic version of much of what science has found or surmised in the last fifty years.

And no, I'm NOT advocating such texts as a basis for science.

1.) The sky isn't a piece of fabric to be stretched out.

2.) The Earth isn't suspended

3.) It should be abundantly clear to the ancients that rain fall fed springs, I don't see a mystical source for this knowledge.

4.) The Earth is not a circle, it is a sphere.

5.) The Greeks knew the Earth was a sphere long before the bible was written.

6.) No one lives above the Earth.

7.) You have successfully proved the bible is completely inaccurate. As you claim it is the inerrant word of your god this also effectively proves your god doesn't exist.

Read it:

- says bats are birds

- says rabbits chew cud

- says insects have 4 legs

- says the earth is flat, is a disc, has 4 corners, is held up on pillars

Nope. It's not scientifically accurate.

Basically it only shows knowledge that people 2000 years ago would have had... not just the bible writers; most of the things the Bible writers got correct was already known by the ancient Greek & Egyptians.

A book that claims that a magical sky fairy created the world in seven days and impregnated a random woman who gave birth to some man who was executed and came back to life. It also mentions talking snakes, a flat earth, four-legged insects and a story about the human race being descended from two people (inbred much?). So, what do you think?

The New World Translation isn't "The Bible". It's just a bible. Most significantly, it is not a Christian bible.
