I'm trying to download Civ IV to a new computer. I keep getting an error msg - data error(cyclic redundancy error). What and why am I?
getting this? It happens in file E:\data2.cab. The new computer is running win 8. Is it a disc or computer error?
Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible that the hard drive may be corrupt, and you would have to re-install the whole Windows OS.
(as in, deleting the current one, and installing a new one.) Don't format your hard drive though.
