non-consensual conception?

A few questions.

In cases where your DNA was used by another party to induce conception that resulted in the birth of child of which you were a biological parent completely without your consent.

Would you still pay court ordered child support if you contested custody in the matter and the court's ruled in favor of the other parent even though you did not consent to the conception of that child?

Do you think there should be laws that protect against non-consensual conception?

This can hypothetically apply to either gender in the not so distant future.

Also can you state if you are male or female and if you identify yourself as a feminist or MRA?

This is the stuff of science fiction and one would hope that by the time science gets far enough along that regulations would be put in place to stop abuse from happening. I would hope that there would be a regulation against using one's DNA against one's will. Also I think there would need to be a thorough screening of the genes so as not to needlessly promote genetic diseases.

If a woman claims to be on the pill, but in reality isn't, telling the male she can't get pregnant, but in fact she does and then refuses to have an abortion, isn't that non-consensual conception?

Sperm donation isn't non-consensual conception, but there is an agreement that the person donating will remain anonymous, will have no obligation to any child and no rights. That's been overturned at times.

Loki in another question linked a case in which a boy victim of statutory rape was forced to pay child support - Maybe consent was given, but by statute such consent is not legally valid, yet he was held responsible.

I disagree it's simply science fiction. I think related incidences already exist.

I would be very upset, but my state laws require a surrogacy contract. If the father tried to order child support from me, I would sue. I was excluded from the contract, and obviously there is no shadow of a doubt that the birth was a result of my having consensual sex.

Unfortunately, the only proof men could provide that his dna was stolen and misused, would be a confession from the mother. Seeing as how that is unlikely, men are in a vulnerable positions when it comes to that. My suggestion to men is to be the sole handler of their condom before and after sex, and throw in some spermicidal lubricant while you're at it.

I do believe, as Common Sense mentioned, that a woman lying about being on birth control should not be able to hold the father legally responsible. It would actually be really smart to enter a contract on the agreement the she has started taking birth control, and unless the man signs off that he is aware of her stopping birth control, he has legally and responsibly refrained from impregnating her, absolving himself of financial responsibility.

The mitochondrial DNA is inherited solely from the egg.

So, in case of women, it can be proved if she was a victim of non-consensual conception, by having her DNA "stolen" - with investigation of the mitochondrial DNA.

However, in case of males it can't be proven, since mitochondrial DNA is of maternal origin.

But then, males already ARE victims of various injustices - like having to continue to pay child support for kids that are not theirs, etc...so who cares if it happens to men, right? Won't be anything new.

Source(s): I think you can guess my gender. lol.

I would imagine this was pretty rare and would be a difficult thing to prove unless it was somehow recorded. All you would have was people's word and there would usually be no proof. I am female and I identify as neither feminist or MRA.
