I sleep with my dog, and found a tick in my leg this morning. Do I burn the room completely or how do I make sure there are no others?

At least not in my bed. Thank you.

Burn the room - hardly!! But you may have to 'bomb' it. More importantly is to go see your GP for antibiotics because ticks carry Lyme Disease - better to be safe than sorry with that. My husband managed to get one on the back of his knee which I had to take off for him. He had antibiotics and was fine.

Stop sleeping with your dog unless you want this to happen again, and if this came from your dog, he'll need treating too.

if you found only a single tick on you (and the dog), odds are that there is only a single tick. An entire night is certainly enough time for ticks to find your body. Both you and your dog are the best bait and all the ticks will sooner or later be on you.

You can pick up a tick as easily as your dog can if you walk through tall grass, or wooded, overgrown areas. I have brought them home on my shoes after walks in the woods.

First you need to determine if, in fact, your dog has ticks ... and if he does, then you need to get the dog on a good flea/tick preventive program. Carefully remove any ticks you find on your dog.

If your dog is carrying parasites ... then you do not want to share a bed with him.

I would also bug bomb your room - strip the bed, wash all the bedding ... etc.

Once again, I am correct when I preach how DISGUSTING sleeping with an animal can be.

I'm afraid this requires total thermonuclear annihilation of your room... except your bed.
