Ex JWs now adults?
This is aimed at ex JWs who were raised in the religion, then left for whatever reason and are now adults. If you have parent(s) who are still active JWs and they still speak to you. Do they talk you like the adult you are? Or do they talk down to you like a disobedient child who needs correction? Even if the conversation has nothing to do with religion. Do you get this sense that just because you walked away or were thrown out. They now believe your mentality level suddenly reverted to a young child? If it happens a time or two and a gentle reminder fixes the problem. That is one thing. But if it is an ongoing way of being treated. How do you deal with it without losing your composure.

I walked away primarily for doctrine issues that I couldn't agree with because they made no sense.
My parents do still treat me that way. They speak to me like a two year old that has to be corrected and talked down to. That has never changed.
I really don't have to deal with it, though. I don't live where either of them do and I rarely talk to them. It's fine by me that I don't have to put up with it very often. When I do have to deal with it, I just ignore it. I stopped being a two year old when I was two. I understand that they do it because of the JW mentality so it's easy to brush off. They probably don't even know they're doing it.

Try asking Ex Catholics, or Ex Methodists, or Ex Anything.
You may find it to be more of a PARENT problem and less of a religious problem.
Are you a parent with GROWN children?
If not, you do not have what the Bible calls "freeness of speech" on this subject.
