Does the widespread support for the GOP policies disprove the free market con theory: people always act (vote) in their own self interest?

Of course people vote in their own best interests, that's just human nature. The trick is getting to vote for what they believe are their best interest only to find out years later we were duped.A good example is Reagan and his trickle down economics. That and Bush's wars are the reason we'er in the shape we find ourselves today. They told us about WMDs and the threat to our nations safety. And we bought it.And gave our support to the politicians who then played the lie out to the detriment of the entire world. We thought it was in our self interests.Politicians are con men.Have you ever seen the card trick, the three card Monte. They know it very well and we fall far it every time.

Yes they are so widespread that it cost them an election twice.

I suppose we can consider 1/3 of the nation as being supportive of Republican "policies." But the problem is that their so called policies include little but obstruction in Congress, support of anti-women and anti-minority laws, opposing Obama even when he's right, insisting Benghazi was his and Hill's fault when we already know it was a military decision to stand down, self-created "scandals" in which they have no facts to offer.

In other words, yes, millions vote against their own interests when they vote for the GOP. They vote with their "church" head instead of using logic and actual facts when they step into the voting booth. They can win local and state elections but thankfully the Presidency is beyond their reach because of simple demographics.

No, people see that our country is fast being destroyed and they know the republicans really do want to try and save it. It surprises me you would think this way.

No, it proves it. It id in NO ONE'S best interest to votre Democray. Their policies and attitudes are destroying this country. If we want to recover, Liberal/Democrats have to be stopped cold.

No, what disproves that is all of the Black people who voted for and continue to support Obama when he has done nothing to make things better for them.

Uh.. Voting Democrat is a vote for one's self interests over the country's

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing"

It doesn't prove or disprove anything. They may believe it IS in their long term best interests.
