did i just ruin my diet?

so my dad bought these bread pastries and the top is sprinkled with sugar. i'm trying to eat healthy so i didn't want to eat it. i took the bread and smelled it because i was so tempted to eat it. so instead of eating it, i licked the bread and just put it back. LOL. but the thing is, i'm worried that i just gained pounds from licking it because i licked the sugar from the bread and isn't sugar bad for you? should i just eat the pastry?

Eat it or throw it out. You won't gain weight from licking the top. it takes 3500 calories excess to gain a pound. Do a few minutes more exercise if you are concerned.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard... Of course you can eat the pastry. You really should start understanding portions and micronutrients especially. Hell, you could eat 2 or 3 pastries if you wanted, as long as you don't exceed your carb, sugar, fat, or overall basic calorie goal for the day. I'm not saying to eat unhealthy all the time, but I think you should stop "dieting" and start learning how to "eat".

What's one pastry going to hurt if you stick to your diet? Might as well eat the part you licked before someone else does.
