Advice on video rental services?

This is coming from a guy who really valued and enjoyed the old days of walking into a Blockbuster where you could really LOOK at the cases and get a sense of what you were renting....

Anyway, I have a good internet connection, and a Roku box, so I understand the possibilities there.

I've already read internet articles (like the CNET one) about "where to rent / stream videos, post-blockbuster" type of theme. None of that is new to me, but the problem is that along with the description of the various options (Amazon prime, Vudu, Netflix etc), comes no mention at all about the SELECTION. That's what I need help evaluating.

I DO NOT WANT THE FOLLOWING:

1) watching movies on a phone, laptop, or anything other than my TV / Roku-accessible.

2) to sign up for any rental service that does not have a FULL SELECTION - in other words, like Blockbuster always had. ALL NEW RELEASES TO DVD, PERIOD.

The reason I haven't done Amazon Prime's yearly thing is, what if the selection is crap, like Netflix? I don't just need another Redbox, I want to know what ONE PLACE can I sign up for that has ALL NEW RELEASE, and hopefully a monthly subscription type of fee where I can get a little more for my money.

NOT JUST service that pick and choose and have random, totally unpredictable selections that represent maybe 10% of the new releases - like Netflix and Redbox and, I think, Amazon Prime.

I'm leaning towards Vudu, but does anyone coming from a similar perspective have advice?

Just use the internet dude. Imdb.com for the biggest selection possible. Then just download whatever you found on imdb.com one by one from any number of websites uploading ALL movies and shows for free. There's hundreds of different FREE websites to download ANY movie/show ever made.

Source(s): Been watching every movie/show ever made this way at least 20 years now and there's nothing I cannot watch/find.

Try Vudu; you can stream it through your TV if you have a box that allows you to do that .(I am assuming the Roku box can) or if you have cable you could rent movies from your cable box.
