Google Chrome used to be my favourite web browser, but I have discovered that it is running background processses in my Admintrator account, when I am log into a different account.

It is rather rather like big brother is watching over you , should i unintall and use firefox??

Update:

Google has a running history of acquiring or developing many excellent software 'packages'; then giving that away to the public at large (which are eagerly snapped up); then re-wording the original Terms of Service (via the 'gotcha' clause) [https://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9225406/Go... to broaden the scope of what they collect and how they disperse it to anyone with enough money.

This is not unusual unfortunately, because many firms use the same tactic. It has never been the opposite case where sharing your info is constricted.

The push to encroach into your life has been replaced with a shove, and the Google omnivore has relegated your 'privacy' to Paleolithic studies; it's a long dead concept with them. You are now merely a potential marketing target, or worse...

Chrome, by default, has many cloaked monitoring activities.

Some of my recommendations (if you feel the need to continue using it) are here:

I use Firefox, but even then it must be modified to constrain automatic 'fetch and deploy' actions.

    Those are here: /question/index?qid=20140...

Apparently I have set an option in Chrome to run as a background service.

I got a bit worried when Google did an auto-awesome on some of my photos that I had backed up to my Google drive

Not on my computers. Google Chrome works fine as it always has.
