Does Gandalf die in the third Hobit book? Because I'm pretty sure he dies in the third movie?
I just watched the trailer for the third Lord of the Rings movie which is coming out December 17 by the way... and I saw someone crying over him. So yeah... I just want to know for sure...

The third LOTR movie was released a long time ago. The third installment of the Hobbit is coming out. There is only one book in the Hobbit - there are three in LOTR. Gandalf never truly dies in any of the Hobbit/LOTR books.

Do you even have brain? How can Gandalf die in the third Hobbit movie when he appears in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which occurs after the Hobbit. LOL.

Too late to answer but WTH....
James is correct.....Gandalf dies after dealing with the Balrog on top of Zirakzigil. He of course is brought back and continues his long fight to end Sauron's power in Middle-earth, and then goes back home with the Elves taking Frodo and Bilbo to the Undying Lands over the sea

gandalf dies during an encounter with a demon in the fellowship of the ring. not in the third movie
