Why did God exist before Creation?
If it was simply for the purpose of creation, then doesn't that seem like a cop-out? Like God is just the best answer to a difficult, but really a human, question?
I'm asking purely out of curiosity, I'm not attacking anyone! This has bugged me for a while and I just want an honest answer.

Right? I believe that religion was created to help people Ignore, when you start asking too many questions you stop being productive. If you believe your life is meaningless your life is meaningless "God" or no. however if you believe there is a "God" and he has a plan for you and all will be well you stop worrying, and keep moving. I believe it is in our nature, the need to feel like we're doing something worth doing, and the answer "God" was just a way to help people cope with the implications of a meaningless existence. Now for the question: Nothing is Nothing. Something cannot be without something. However nothing CANNOT exist WITH something. Only the concepts need each-other, While the realities of nothing and something cannot co-exist. That in itself almost proves that there was a god before creation, or at least something, but who created "God"? And honestly I believe we cannot comprehend timelessness, because "time" is the only thing that we have. That means "God" is a timeless entity, And if i lived, and could do whatever I wanted for an infinite amount of time before "creation" and beyond I'd have moved on by now, or commited suicide, but how could a timeless entity, which has no real conceptualization of time create time? and what happens if it dies? -See... no productivity, more questions, no definite answers. I could be doing something else right now if i accepted that i have a purpose, and "God" has all the answers for me, and everything will be alright, and someone else would eventually answer instead of me through "God".-Then how do we know that I'm not "speaking" on god's behalf? We don't. But yes, Short answer would have been I agree with what I've perceived as your perception.
