question about AdwCleaner?
I downloaded Adwcleaner from Bleeping Computer.com but i am paranoid about malware, The only way i can get infected is if i allow the program to run, correct?
I am aware of what it does i am just uncertain about running it because of the results i got after running it through Virus Total.

These are false positives. Among the three antiviruses suggesting that AdwCleaner might have malicious component, I'll discard Trend Micro's result due to its unacceptably high rate of false detections.
In a scan timestamped just 13½ hours later, Commtouch shows AdwCleaner as safe. Searching the site for the MD5 and SHA1 checksums turned up a still more recent scan of adwcleaner_3.302.exe (the author's filename), and Commtouch again "detects" malware.
I'll ignore the Commtouch result as well, since it's obviously unreliable.
Which leaves CMC. Gizmo's Freeware (TechSupportAlert.com) lists CMC Antivirus as "Not Recommended", in large part due to false positives, so that's best ignored as well.
The rest unanimously pronounced AdwCleaner free of malware, and I'd go with that assessment.

BleepingComputer.com is extremely vigilant, and regularly verifies every program available for download from their site.
If you are concerned about receiving an infected copy, download from BleepingComputer and the author's site, then check whether the programs are identical.

Personally, I wouldn't bother — the odds of an infected program being planted undetected are virtually zero.

Adwcleaner is safe.
Links on bleepingcomputer are safe.

& make sure your all your programs are up to date:

The link you have posted show three programs give a FP for adwcleaner, thats all.

AdwCleaner is not a malware. It removes adwares, BHO, toolbars etc. Nothing wrong with running it. Just be selective of the programs it want's to nuke. For example it will delete Youtube Downloader in case you have it installed. Anyway there is a backup so you can restore it in case you remove all items it detected.
There are many ways you can get infected by malware and not just by running it.
