How is poutine not popular fast food in the US?

Just a curious Canadian on here asking Americans why poutine isn't popular down there?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what it is, poutine is a dish of french fries covered with brown gravy and cheese curds.

Now, I get some foods just don't fit with some nationalities. I also get the health thing... this dish is a heart attack on a plate. But, so many other fast foods are popular in the US that are equally or more unhealthy...I just don't get it.

Any ideas?

It's all marketing. Poutine is a wonderful dish, but it has to better known.

Similar to chilly cheese fries which In-&-Out and a few others sell. Garlic and sweet potatoes fries are big as well.

It is also an acquired taste and Americans aren't very bright when it comes to trying new things. Many sit down restaurants offer it in one form or another.

They eat it in Florida; probably cause of all the Canadians that visit. Had it before and I guess you have to grow up eating that... It's okay..
